Blendabilities

Probably by now you've all heard of Stampin Ups new alcohol markers called Blendabilities. Well here's my first attempt  using them. There's some things I would have done differently but nonetheless they are fun to use & the flower turned out beautiful.  If you haven't tried them yet....you really should!!

Lattice Card

Take 2 strips Whisper White CS that measure 1 1/4"x 8 1/2".
Using the Chevron Punch, punch the entire strip. Yes it's longer than the card but you will trim later.
Place one strip over the other & move the top punched strip up & down slowly until the design looks like lattice. Secure strategically with glue dots.
Place "lattice" on card & adhere.
Trim excess lattice from card. Place flowers & leaves to create "vine" look crawling up lattice. Beeeeeautiful!!

Pretzel Salad

Doesn't look much like a "salad" does it? Oh well it's pretty & refreshing in the summer!
Crust:
2 c pretzels crushed coarsely
4 T sugar
3/4 c butter
Mix & press into 9x13" pan. Bake @ 400• for 8 min. Let cool completely!
Creamy layer:
8 oz cream cheese
1 c powdered sugar
2 c cool whip
Spread over cooled crust. Seal edges WELL!! This keeps crust from getting soggy.
Jello Layer:
1 (6ox) box strawberry or raspberry jello
1 3/4 c boiling water
10 oz frozen strawberries or raspberries
Dissolve jello in water. When dissolved stir in frozen berries. When cooled pour over cool whip layer. Refrigerate til set.
VERY easy to do Gluten Free using gluten free pretzels.

Enchilada Dip

Here's a yummy dip that we had at Card Class on Saturday. If you like Mexican ANYTHING... You'll love this!!
Cook & crumble 1-2 lbs of hamburger (depending on how much meat you desire in the dip.. I added 1qt of home canned pintos instead of second pound of burger) with 1 onion & several cloves of garlic
While that's cooking make your enchilada sauce:
Melt 4 T butter in saucepan
When melted mix in 4 T flour
Mix well.
In blender, purée:
1 qt  tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
2T chili powder
1 T tomatoe boullion
Stir tomatoe purée into flour/butter mixture. Lower heat & cook til thickened.
Stir enchilada sauce into cooked hamburger. Place in oven proof pan (if you need to reheat later) . Top with cheese & allow to melt.
Serve with tortilla chips.

Masculine Card-For Mr. Fix-It

Here's a card that'll take the cake any day!! The aluminum foil ( yep just plain 'ol heavy duty aluminum foil) really adds a neat "chrome" look to this card! I ran the foil thru the Big Shot with the Argyle embossing folder. It's very fragile so be careful!! I also used the "ink to paper" technique on the Real Red CS & Crumb Cake CS to make it look a little more rustic. The wrenches are just punches (you know me with punches!!!)
Have fun with this one!

Strawberry Slush Birthday

This is the first time I've used the  In Color ,Strawberry Slush. Isn't it pretty?
To make this fun fancy fold card. Cut your card base like you normally would, 51/2" x 4 1/4" the score the front at
2 1/8". BEFOREyoufold on scrore line, center your 2 1/2" circle punch on score line & punch. The fold back on score line.
Using matching stamps & punches create the flower "spray" around the circle punch & down front. Add greeting on 2 3/8" scallop circle. Finishing touches of pearls just add to this cards beauty!!

Lookin Fine!!

Heres a wise old owl for your wise old graduate!! So cute & simple to make! And because it's made of punches I really like it!! You do have to free hand the cap tho but it wasn't difficult. Have a fun time creating this little guy!!

Look Up To Father

Next Sunday is Fathers Day. So here's a cool masculine card for that special Daddy, Papa or Father in your life. Sometimes monochromatic is the way to go on a masculine card & it deffinitely was on this one. And don't you love this stamp? Notice I cut the stamp & greeting apart so that I could use them separately. It's not hard to do. Since this stamp comes only in woodmount, before you take the sticker cover off use very sharp scissors or exacto knife & make a clean cut between the words & image. Then mount the tree on the large flat side of the wood & the greeting on one end of the wood block & place stickers on corresponding sides. That way you can use them independent of each other. Enjoy your day & happy stamping!!

Something's Fishy!!

Do you recognize any punches on this card? This was a fun card to make cuz you KNOW how I love to use punches different than how they were intended to be used. So cute for a kids bday!!
