Tag Card

Bear Happy Birthday tag card

LOVE the new ink pads. Look how crisp the images turn out!!! This uses an old Stampin Up set called "The Pines"  I have had this set forever. I still love it so much!  This card has the extra dimension of the pull out tag. It was a fun card to create!

June 23rd Card Class

Last Saturday was Card Class here at my house. It is always so much fun to get together with all all my Stampin friends. Here's a couple recipes you all will want to try. This one is called :
Double Chocolate Mocha Trifle
1 pkg (18 oz) brownie mix (or I make my own)
1 3/4 c cold milk
2 pkg (3 oz) white chocolate instant pudding mix
1/4 c warm water
4 t. instant coffee granules
2 c. cool whip
3 toffee bars crushed or toffee bits
Prepare brownies & bake. Let cool. While cooling mix milk & pudding. Mix water with coffee granules to dissolve. Add coffee to pudding mixture. Fold in cool whip. Cut up brownies into bite size pieces. Layer brownies, pudding mixture, then toffee bits. Continue til all ingredients are gone ending with toffee bits. Chill 3 hrs before serving.

 Cinnamon Rolls
2 pkgs yeast
1 c very warm water
1 tsp sugar
Mix together til dissolved. Let set til bubbly.
1/2 c butter melted
1/3 c sugar
1 egg
1 T salt
Mix all together well then add yeast mixture. Add:
1 1/2 c lukewarm milk
4 c flour
Mix until dough is soft then turn out on floured surface & knead in flour until dough is not sticky but elasticy & soft.
Let rise til double in oiled bowl. Punch down then rise again til double. Roll out and sugar & etc like you would normal cinnamon rolls. Grease pan well then sprinkle brown sugar fairly thick in bottom then pour cream & mix with brown sugar. Place cinnamon rolls on top of cream & brown sugar. Let rolls rise again til double. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 min. Turn out upside down onto cookie sheet so brown sugar cream sauce is the frosting. Enjoy!!!

Cupcake Builder

One of my favorite cards!!!! This card uses the Create a Cupcake stamp set and the Cupcake Builder punch. I used markers to make the sprinkles on the cupcake different colored then the punch to punch it out PLUS the patterned paper. Love the way this card is so crisp and clean. Here again you can use scraps of paper to punch out the cupcake "body".

More Bareback

Good morning to you all!!!
If any of you loved the "Bareback" stamp set as much as I do then you'll love this card. It uses varied hues of brown & tan with three brads to set it all off. There are some cards that NEED the torn look and this is one of them. In case you are asking if there is a "right" or "wrong" way to tear .... yes there is depending on the look you are wanting to achieve. If you want the feathery look that I have here, then holding the stamped image in your left hand, tear with your right hand coming towards your body. If you want a crisper edge tear with the left hand coming towards your body. Try it a time or two on some scraps and see how you like it.

Thank U

Here's a card that you can do in large or small scale depending on the size of alphabet stamps you have. And of course the possibilities are endless: "celebrate U"  "It's all about U" "Happy Birthday to U"....etc....I really like the simplicity of this card.

Cool Birthday Wishes

Think of the possibilities of this card! Here it is a bit masculine....but switch around the paper & colors, add a flower brad and suddenly it's very feminine! You could also use the Big Shot and emboss the Marina Mist CS for a little more texture.Sometimes in my classes I like to have simplicity to show that simple can sometimes be the very prettiest!!! Enjoy!!!

Bareback

Hello and I hope you are have a delightful Spring Tuesday today!!! This is another masculine card that we made in class some months back. I enjoy doing masculine cards because they are a challenge AND because there is such a need for them. Most women say that masculine cards are the ones they find the most difficult to do.So as you can see I kinda focus on them. It is so easy to do feminine cards~ just grab some pink or purple paper and some flower stamps and your on you way to gorgeous cards!!!
But I love this card....not to mention that I LOVE LOVE this stamp of the mama and baby.  Hope you enjoy it.

Just My Type

This card has a great "old-timey" look. I used a discontinued stamp set but "Established Elegance" would work fine.

Lace Oatmeal Cookies

Happy Sunday!!! Fathers Day is just a week away. This is my husbands favorite cookie recipe so that's why I'm posting it. Give it a try and see how your special man likes it!
Lace Oatmeal Cookies
3 c. oatmeal
2 cubes butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 t. flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
2 eggs
4 t. vanilla
Melt butter & pour over oats, mix well. Combine sugar, flour, baking powder & salt. Add to oat mixture and mix well.  Add eggs & vanilla. Beat well. Let dough set for 15 minutes to absorb into oats. Line cookie sheet with foil and oil the foil. Drop by small spoonfuls onto oiled foil. These cookies are VERY thin and they spread so allow for plenty of room. I only put 6 to a cookie sheet.
Bake @ 350 degrees for 12 min. Remove from oven and slide foil off of cookie sheet onto rack & place rack in freezer. This is the sure fire way of removing from foil. Leave in freezer 15 minutes. Then you can gently pull cookies off foil. Very delicate and crispy!
Enjoy!!!

Elmo

Here's Elmo!!! Such a cute card for the special kid in your life. So simple and so cute! You actually use the negative of the oval die (Old Olive) ,place it over the red card then cut the inside oval out of black & cut one side of the black off to use for Elmos mouth. There is no stamping on this one so its SUPER easy to put together.

Even more "Totally Tool"

ANOTHER Father's day card and ANOTHER tool one! LOVE the Totally Tool stamp set. A tid bit of info for you....when I get stamps that are a picture and saying together, I always (if there is enough room) cut them apart and mount them on either side of the wood block. I then put the stickers on the side when you hold  onto. I find that its nice to be able to use them separately.

May 5th Wedding

About a month ago our family was invited to play for a friends wedding in Pendelton, OR.  It was a very chilly day (and the wedding was outside) but we had a great time. Our family played for 1/2 hr+ while guests were arriving and then the boys played "Canon in D" in place of the traditional wedding march. They did PERFECT!!! (I can say that...I'm the mom!:)
