Love Being Green

Here's a St. Patrick Day card we did in class last weekend. Fun, quick & simple! I love how Stampin Ups colors coordinate! This card actually uses Wild Wasabi & Gumball Green together & it's ok!!! You would never know it was two different shades of green! Have fun with this!

Puppy Birthday

Isn't he adorable??? Primarily this puppy uses the Blossom Builder punch. Amazing what you can do with punches, huh?
Little boys love this card! Have fun!!

Lucky Happy Birthday

Here's a cute card that anyone would feel lucky to receive! It just uses the large heart punch (discontinued item from SU!)
But you could create this shamrock with any heart punch. Then we just free handed the stem. Very simple! Whether you use patterned paper on solid like I did here or solid paper on patterned they are all adorable!!

Saturday Card Class

Awesome day yesterday at card class!!! Nineteen ladies made some fun cards, laughed & talked & had a great time!!! You should have been here too!!!
Here's some pictures from class & here's the recipes too!
Apple Dip
Cream together:
Peanut butter
Cream cheese
Honey
Equivalent are to your own taste. Approx 1 c pbutter
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 c honey
Serve with sliced apples.

Ranch Chex Party Mix
4 T Butter melted
4 1/2 c chex cereal
3 c pretzels of your choice
1 c nuts
1 T+ 2 tsp Ranch mix powder
1/2 c Parmesan cheese
Mix cereals, pretzels & nuts together in big bowl. (You can also add cheese crackers of your choice)
Melt butter & drizzle over dry mixture while stirring. Sprinkle ranch powder & cheese over all stirring to coat evenly .
Bake in 250 degree oven for 15 min stirring every 5 min.
Cool. Enjoy!

Stampin Ups new paper trimmer

If you were at class last month you heard me brag about the new trimmer!!! It is the MOST awesome trimmer ever!!! It isn't just a luxury it is a MUST HAVE for a scrapper/card maker!!! Check out the pictures here. The cutting surface is protected so the measurements will not wear off leaving you with NO marks to measure by. (My last cutter didn't even last a year keeping its marks!!!) Theres a nice big cutting surface so for standard card cutting you don't have to put the arm out. But when you DO need the arm it has measurements on it with NO break where you feel like you have to guess. Plus the arm has a stabilizing leg that gives you a firm cutting surface for beyond 6"! The scoring blade AND cutting blade stay on the track at the same time where there's room to push one or the other clear to the top or bottom out of your way. Theres also a lock for the cutting track arm so when you transport it the arm isnt flapping open. AND as if that's not enough underneath is a "secret" compartment for storage. I never thot I would call a trimmer/cutter pretty.... But wait til you get one of your own.... You'll agree it us a beautiful cutter!!! And seriously for $29.95 you can't go wrong!!!

There is something about these two colors together that us just awesome!!!
"Who'd a thunk it!!!" Calypso Coral & Island Indigo. Add a little Pool Party in there & you've got yourself a cool color combo!! And isn't this "Sent with Love" stamp set cute? Soooo many possibilities!

Sympathy

Every once in awhile you need a sympathy card. And although you don't want to anticipate bad times you do need to have cards on hand that say you care. Here's a simple card today just that. I used the Secret Garden stamp set again with my favorite Subtles color combo. Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery & So Saffron.

Paw Print

If you've been to my card classes then you know how much I love taking a punch & using it in a different & unexpected way! If you're gonna invest money into punches then you should be able to use sideways & backwards, right? Here's another one of those cards! It features the small oval punch & the big heart punch to make a nice sized paw print. Then a 1" circle punch on the greeting. I have a congratulations greeting on the sample but you could use this as a sympathy card for someone who lost their four legged friend or a birthday card for simply someone who loves dogs! At any rate it's using punches in a different light than you're used to!

Cappuccino Mousse Trifle

A fun & pretty dessert.
1 (16oz) frozen pound cake
2 1/2 c cold milk
1/3 c instant coffee granules
2 small pkgs vanilla pudding
2 (8oz) cool whip
1 sq semi sweet chocolate
1/4 t ground cinnamon
Cut pound cake into cubes. Set aside.
Mix milk & coffee granules together. Let stand 5 min then take out & reserve 1 cup. Mix pudding mixes with the remaining 1 1/2 c of milk. Whisk in 1 container of cool whip. Assemble trifle by placing 1/2 the pound cake cubes into bottom if trifle bowl & press down gently. Pour 1/2 c of coffee/milk mixture over cubes. Top with 1/2 of cool whip/pudding mixture. Grate 1/2 of chocolate over pudding. Repeat again. Top with reserved coolwhip & grate rest of chocolate over. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Amazing Friend

The perfect card for that... Well.... amazing friend! Don't you just love the "Secret Garden" Framelits & stamp set? We used it on several cards last class. It sure beats cutting them all out by hand!!! This card has a lovely window that is a great texture to the final look. Love that clear circle die. Good luck & have fun!

Honeycomb Card

This card features the new Honeycomb embossing folder. With a few snips you can have the quilt look I did here. Just emboss the card & then emboss the DSP that you've chosen to have for your "quilt" pieces. Using your paper snips cut on the very inside of the embossing. Then attach to your card. Add your greeting, burlap ribbon& a cool metal button & you're DONE!!
