September Card Class Goodies

Another card class has come & gone....
We always have such a good time here!
Today I served Root Beer Floats and Chicken Salad.
Here's my recipe for my "made up" chicken salad:
3 cans Costco canned chicken, drained
4 ( or more) ribs celery, chopped
1 small onion, diced small
1 cup roasted almonds, chopped but not small
Mayonnaise enough to make it a nice moist consistency
Serve with Club crackers or Chicken in a Biscuit

As for the Root Beer floats?!? You KNOW how to make those....right?!?

Amaze Me!!

This DSP package has some awesome color combos! Take this one for instance.
It's called Painted Blooms & here's the color scheme:
Blackberry Bliss
Blushing Bride
Daffodil Delight
Pacific Point
Rose Red
Soft Sky
Wild Wasabi
Whisper White
You can do SOOO much with in this color boundaries! I used the Rose Red for the card base & flower stack. Then I added a simple ribbon, greeting & button. Great colors but a siiiiiimple card!!

Last Hurrah For Summer

Love this paper and even tho it's real summer-y I couldn't resist..one...last...
pretty summer card. I mean... The NAMES even...Watermelon Wonder & Pool Party... You can't use those when there's frost on the pumpkin!! So here goes as you shiver away with sweaters on!!
I used the "Hello You" thinlits and just left off the "s" on thanks to make thank you.
Super easy!

Gift Card or Money Holder

....or just a plain ol greeting card!!
Cute...just cute as could be!!  Crumb Cake CS cut in half at 4 1/4". Score at 4 1/2" from one end then 4 1/2" from the first score line. That leaves the extra 2" for the flap. Sponge every edge then "stitch" with a pen. Make a belly band to hold the card together. I used Rich Razzelberry & Old Olive DSP. I then punched the leaves out with the new Holly Berry Builder punch & added a Rich Razzelberry bow.

Lone Tree

Just a singular tree....but a lovely one!
Super simple card....may even classify for this months "5 Second Card"!!
Just place your open card onto any due that you want cut out of the front, run it through the Big Shot & place any color DSP behind it so it shows through. Add a greeting, brads & other embellishments.

New Product ALERT!!

Plaid....cable knit.... Reds & greens...
Oooooh that's right down my alley!!
The cable knit embossing folder is so so cool. It gives a really deep embossing that gives a warm, cozy, sweater-y texture to any card! And don't just think of it for Christmas! What about a great backdrop for a masculine card....perfect!
OH! And the new DSP...Candy Cane Lane (more on another card later) and This Christmas are "must haves" for this Christmas Season.

Candy Corn

Here's a little gem of a card you will definitely want to make this Fall!!
Looks complicated but really it isn't!! (See photo below)
Punch one 1 3/8" circle from Daffodil Delight CS. Punch one 1" circle from Pumpkin Pie CS. Punch one 1/2" circle from Whisper White CS. Layer then cut into 8 pieces of candy corn.

One little trick is to adhere the circles together very well & to each edge. That way they won't "crawl" when you cut them. Then cut the circle into 8 pieces. Use them to decorate your card. You'll have a few extra to use inside as well!

Fa-BOO-Lous

You can never go wrong on a Halloween card when you use orange & black! Here's a typical Halloween card except it's WAY cool!!
I used the sentiment from the set called "Six Sayings". The two "O's" just screamed at me to put wiggle eyes in them, don't you agree?!?
Also this card is a great way to use up orange & black scraps of DSP origin you don't have DSP, you could use plains ol orange & black and maybe emboss the CS to make it appear to have different patterns. At any rate it's a great way to use scraps!

Grape Thanks

Grape harvest is in the Fall after frost because it makes the grapes so much sweeter.
Here's a sweet fall card.... Love these colors together. Soft Suede & Blackberry Bliss.
Take a piece of sheet music & copy it (using your printer) onto a piece of Very Vanilla. This makes a really cool antique-y background. Stamp grapes or any other image accordingly.

Soft Sky & Chocolate Chip Fall

Two unsuspecting colors,huh?
But they go so great together!!
Welcome in Fall with this lovely card.
Whether for a fall birthday, a harvest party invitation or just to let someone know you're thinking of them...this card will brighten anyone's day!!

Fall Simply Wonderful

Something about the look & feel of burlap just whispers..."Fall..."
Add a bit of embossed inked script and you have the makings of a perfect autumn card!
I just love this card.... Simple but so elegant!
