Card Kits

Have you ever tried one of SU!'s card kits? They are pre-cut & sometimes laser cut depending on the style. Anyway today I am playing with some I've had around awhile & have been itchin to see what I could do with them. Here's a few samples:

Stay tuned tomorrow for more.....

Miss you a latte!!

Marina mist & Early Espresso make a perfect blend on this card. The EE CS is the Coredinations paper from SU and u used the Woodgrain embossing folder. I sanded the Woodgrain a little but you really don't have to ....& it has a tendency to tear along the embossed grain. :( Even if you don't sand it has a Woodgrain that shows up a little lighter JUST from embossing. A great card for any friend  who enjoys a good cuppa joe!!

Gingham Happy Birthday

I love the soft sweetness of this DSP. The colors are not to bold but the gingham in the package makes it striking but at the same time feminine-ly country!! Great potential in this pack!!!  And you know me.... Here's the Top Note die AGAIN!!!
Have a happy Sunday!!!

Elmo AGAIN!!

If you're an Elmo fan then you'll love this card. We called it a "5 second" card at class. That's because it's soooo quick & easy to put together. All I used was the
1 1/4" circle punch, 1/2" circle punch, extra large oval and the 2 1/2" circle punch. You can emboss the card base if you want (like I did here) with the Argyle embossing folder but even without embossing he's really cute!!!

Banner Happy Birthday

Don't you just love these colors? This card uses the Retro DSP paired with the Banner Framelits. It was a fun card to make & I think everyone in class enjoyed it too!!:)
Happy Thursday!!!

Quilted Happy Birthday

Here's a card that is fun to make & so elegant too. Especially if you have a quilter friend ....
This card uses the Hexagon punch &.... Your scraps!!! Such a great way to use all those DSP scraps that we as stampers SAVE!!! Punch, punch & punch some more. Then place the Hexagon pieces on a 3 1/2"x 4 3/4" piece of CS. As you work toward edges you'll have alot of DSP hanging over. Trim to edges of CS. Mount on another piece of CS that is 1/4"-1/2" bigger. Run thro Big Shot using  Square Lattice embossing folder. This makes it looked quilted. Then mount on your card base. Finish off with ribbon or lace & the 2 3/8" scallop punch & 1 3/4" circle punch with your greeting. Lovely... Just lovely!!

I Love You (with a Dove)

A card with a little something extra!! Sometimes that's what we need!!
I used the script embossing folder on the black & the diagonal stripes embossing folder on the silver. If you don't want a Dove in the heart punch out window (...is there anyone who wouldn't???) then just add a greeting there. I added some extra hearts, inside & out to tie it all together.
Just a few more days!! Better get all your Valentines cards made today!!!

It's a"Chili" kind of day!!!

The EASIEST chili recipe in the world is in my crockpot right now!!
It's snowing here in Central Oregon so I thot a chili simmering in the crockpot was just the thing when my guys come in out of the cold!!
Check out the recipe below:
1 lb hamburger
1 lg onion chopped
Fry til well done then place in crockpot.
Add 2 qts diced tomatoes
2 qts pinto beans
2T chili powder
2T Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic chopped
Stir well. Cook in crockpot on low 8 hrs or high 4-6 depending on your crockpot.
So easy & soooo yummy!!!

Love Bird Anniversary

Good Morning Everyone!!
It's snooooowyyyyy here in Central Oregon this morning! Great day to stamp!!
Here's a sweet card I made for a friend to give to his wife for their anniversary. This is using an oooold SU! stamp set called Nesting Place. It's one of those sets I can never ever get rid of, you know? The stamp set does include a bird stamp but I needed them to face each other so I used the bird punch with DSP. Anyway I thot the two little "love birds" were so cute for an anniversary!

Hidden Happy Birthday

Ok I can FINALLY post this!!  My sweet friends husband asked me to make a birthday card for him to give to her. This is what I came up with.....
I had to wait to hear from her to make sure she received it BEFORE I put it on here for fear she might see it.
I used "Everyday Enchantment" DSP along with Secret Garden stamp set & framelits. I also used Beautiful Wings and Little Leaves Sizzlits.
On the inside I used more Beautiful Wings to tie outside & inside together plus the largest oval framelit. A beautiful card for a beautiful friend.... With alot of love put into it!!
